The researchers at the University of Leads School of Geography in the United Kingdom recently discovered that the glaciers of the Himalayan region are losing their ice with a rate of at least 10 times higher than the average rate found in past centuries. The scientific reports said that the glaciers are melting at a very high speed in the past few decades as it has lost around 40% of its glacier areas compared to the major glacier expansion that is found in the past 400-700 years ago.
